Metallic DTF (Direct to Film) is a premium heat transfer finish available in Gold and Silver, designed to give your artwork a bold, reflective metallic effect when pressed onto garments.

Metallic DTF artwork must be supplied as a single-colour design.

Since metallic transfers print in one solid metallic tone (Gold or Silver), your file should:
Be created in one solid colour only (black artwork is preferred for setup).
Not include gradients, shading, textures, or multiple colours.
Be supplied as a high-resolution PNG (300 DPI) with a transparent background, or as a vector file (AI, EPS, or PDF).

If multiple colours or gradients are included, these will be flattened into one solid metallic tone.

No. Metallic DTF is a single-colour process, meaning it cannot reproduce gradients, fades, shadows, fades, or multi-colour artwork. All elements will print in the chosen metallic finish only.

Yes - however, very thin lines or extremely small details may not hold as effectively in metallic. We recommend avoiding ultra-fine lines for the best result.

Metallic DTF can be applied to most common fabrics including:
Cotton
Polyester
Cotton/Poly blends

Metallic DTF transfers are cold peel and should be applied as follows:

Pressing Instructions:
Pre-press garment for 5 seconds to remove moisture and creases.
Position the transfer and press at 150-160C for 10-15 seconds using medium to firm pressure.
Allow the transfer to cool completely.
Cold peel - remove the film only once fully cooled.
Cover with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and complete a second press for 5-10 seconds to seal the design.

When applied correctly following the pressing instructions, Metallic DTF is durable and wash-resistant. We recommend washing garments inside out at 30C and avoiding tumble drying to preserve the metallic finish.

Metallic DTF and full-colour DTF are separate processes. If you require both finishes in one design, please contact us before ordering so we can advise on the best solution.
